The Rapture will happen as described in 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18, 1 Corinthians 15:52, Revelation 1:3, and Revelation 3:10. My belief is that this will happen before The Tribulation period of 7 years.
In Revelation chapters 1 thru 3 they describe the church age. Then in chapter 4 John states "After this." After what? After the completion of the history of the seven churches, John sees "a door opened in heaven and hears a trumpet-like voice loudly and victoriously crying, Come up hither." I believe this to be the Rapture of the church of Jesus Christ which are those that have truly accepted Jesus Christ into their hearts and walk with Him daily. When this occurs , multitudes from all kindreds, people, tongues, and denominations will meet the Savior face to face. And you see this group of people as described in Revelation 5.

Gary Stearman teaching about the Pre-Tribulation Rapture
Gary Stearman: Years of Seven
For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words. – 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18
In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. - 1 Corinthians 15:52
Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand. - Revelation 1:3
Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.
- Revelation 3:10
And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, who delivereth us from the wrath to come. - 1 Thessalonians 1:10
For God appointed us not into wrath, but unto the obtaining of salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him. Wherefore exhort one another, and build each other up, even as also ye do. - 1 Thessalonians 5:9-11
Thy dead shall live; my dead bodies shall arise. Awake and sing, ye that dwell in the dust; for thy dew is as the dew of herbs, and the earth shall cast forth the dead. Come, my people, enter thou into thy chambers, and shut thy doors about thee: hide thyself for a little moment, until the indignation be over past. For, behold, Jehovah cometh forth out of his place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity: the earth also shall disclose her blood, and shall no more cover her slain. - Isaiah 26:19-21
1. After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will show thee things which must be hereafter.
2. And immediately I was in the spirit: and, behold, a throne was set in heaven, and one sat on the throne.
3. And he that sat was to look upon like a jasper and a sardine stone: and there was a rainbow round about the throne, in sight like unto an emerald.
4. And round about the throne were four and twenty seats: and upon the seats I saw four and twenty elders sitting, clothed in white raiment; and they had on their heads crowns of gold.
5. And out of the throne proceeded lightnings and thunderings and voices: and there were seven lamps of fire burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of God.
6. And before the throne there was a sea of glass like unto crystal: and in the midst of the throne, and round about the throne, were four beasts full of eyes before and behind.
7. And the first beast was like a lion, and the second beast like a calf, and the third beast had a face as a man, and the fourth beast was like a flying eagle.
8. And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him; and they were full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come.
9. And when those beasts give glory and honour and thanks to him that sat on the throne, who liveth for ever and ever,
10. The four and twenty elders fall down before him that sat on the throne, and worship him that liveth for ever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying,
11. Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created. - Revelation 4
Many think that Matthew 24:29-31 has to do with the Rapture, but here is a very good explanation and question to ask yourself if you believe that the Rapture happens at the 2nd Coming of Christ after The Great Tribulation.
Matthew 24:29-31 Explained
What happens if you miss the Rapture can you still be saved? Yes, you can and Gary Stearman and Doug Stauffer discuss what the Bible says about this issue and what it will mean for those that accept Jesus Christ as their Savior during the Tribulation. They will pay with their life as John tells about it in the book of Revelation 6:9-11 below. There will probably be millions saved before people have to take the Mark of the Beast and then those that take the Mark are doomed to live out eternity in Hell.
Doug Stauffer: Salvation in the Tribulation
And when he opened the fifth seal, I saw underneath the altar the souls of them that had been slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held:
and they cried with a great voice, saying, How long, O Master, the holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?
And there was given them to each one a white robe; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little time, until their fellow-servants also and their brethren, who should be killed even as they were, should have fulfilled their course. - Revelation 6:9-11

Below is a video and article by Gary Stearman of the Stearman plane family on the Jewish festival of the Pentecost, and he also shows how it relates to the Rapture. He does an outstanding job using scripture to show what the festival of Pentecost is about. And then he uses scripture to show how this relates to the Rapture.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men. - John 1:1-4
